On every patient’s first visit he or she is evaluated by a CHT to determine the plan of care. Goals are discussed with each patient and a treatment program is established. Evaluations will include an assessment, fabrication of custom orthosis as needed, short treatment session and development of a plan of care. A home exercise program will also be reviewed with the patient.

The CHT will fabricate custom orthoses for the elbow, wrist or hand to protect, immobilize or mobilize an injured body part based on doctor’s orders, injury type and goals.

The CHT will fabricate custom orthoses for the elbow, wrist or hand to protect, immobilize or mobilize an injured body part based on doctor’s orders, injury type and goals. At times a prefabricated orthosis will be fit on patient and the patient will be instructed in a wearing schedule.

Some modalities used in the therapy clinic include moist heat, ice, ultrasound and electrical stimulation. Other modalities used at FHT are fluidotherapy, paraffin treatments and contrast baths.

Our mission is to help our patients attain the highest degree of recovery from upper extremity illness or injury while maintaining a very personalized, friendly clinic atmosphere. We provide specialized physical rehabilitation programs for individuals with elbow, wrist and hand injuries.  Our goal is for clients to return to work and resume leisure and daily living activities as quickly as possible.
